About Floriana Floristry
Hi I’m Emma and it is lovely to meet you!
My Story
My journey into floristry hasn’t been a quick one however the seeds were sewn many years ago.
As a child I remember being mesmerised by all of the fruit, vegetables and flowers that my great–grandparents and grandparents would grow in their gardens. Seeing the love, care and attention that they would pour into them with transforming results. Each fruit, vegetable or flower grew into a vibrant creation that would magically transport you to another place with its wonderful aroma, taste or colour!
Each of my grandparents had their favourite blooms from a dahlia, sweet pea to a grape vine! The time spent with them in their gardens and allotments began a lifetime journey and passion for growing flowers and plants. The combined effect of all their skills and talents meant that I too wanted to continue this in my own life and that of my children’s.
My passion for flowers really took off in January 2018 when I was lucky enough to take on an allotment. Experimenting with growing with different varieties of fruit and vegetables each for a different colour or texture. However, it wasn’t long before flowers started to take over. It was my keen desire to learn how to showcase them to their absolute splendour that led me into floristry.
As a primary school teacher for nearly twenty years, I have always been passionate about education and learning. So, it was time for me to go back to school. I enrolled at Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire and completed my Level 2 City in Guilds in Floristry with a Distinction. I am pursuing to deepen my understanding and knowledge further by continuing my education in floristry at Moreton Morrell College.
It was here that I decided that I had found my new calling and floral career. I established Floriana Floristry in April 2022 as a Studio Florist in Tamworth and I haven’t looked back since.
Flowers to me convey so much more than just being pretty blooms, they can convey so many happy memories, thoughts and meanings. This is something that I am passionate about creating within each of my floral designs.
